Dani Robinson – who plays for Wight Eagles U16s – has been picked by the Football Association to attend the Women’s FA Talent Lionesses Pathway in Poole.
Dani was the only girl from the Isle of Wight to attend the Talent Pathway at Hamworthy Football Club after being put forward by club coach and manager Dan Verstraeten. The Wight Eagles captain showcased her remarkable skills against over 50 girls in her age group from right across the South Coast, hoping to get a trial on the road to becoming a professional footballer and one day represent the England Lionesses. FA Scouts have been watching Dani on and off the Island for the last 12 months playing for Wight Eagles. Dani scored 19 Goals in 15 appearances last season and created 23 assists. Dan Verstraeten, Wight Eagles Chairman and Manager, says:
“Dani is a raw talent and fully deserves this chance to make it to the top. I had the pleasure of bringing her to the club and coaching her for the last 3 years. “Dani can make things happen and lift everyone around her. She is an remarkable talent. “She has great support from her family, and I think she really can make it.”
