The White Lion in Niton has been taken over by the team behind another local pub.
Renovation works are underway at the dining venue in the heart of Niton village following last weeks’ takeover by the management team from The Chequers Inn at Rookley.
Although The White Lion will be run by the same owners, it will have a separate menu and identity to The Chequers.
It is unknown at this stage when exactly The White Lion will re-open, but owner Mark Holmes hopes to welcome patrons by the end of July.
Over the past few years the pub has been opened and closed under different landlords. It has been closed for the past 6 months.
Islanders are being urged to follow the new Instagram page @whitelioniow to keep up to date with the latest progress.
