East Cowes Victoria and Newport IW FC have both won Wessex League awards for the month of September.
Vics won the Division 1 Club of the Month award.
Last month, the Beatrice Avenue boys were undefeated in 6 games, winning 4 times and drawing twice.
The East Cowes club have the highest points per game average in their division and have conceded the fewest goals. The Victorians also advanced to the first qualifying round of the FA Vase by beating Wessex Premier Blackfield & Langley.
This is the first award manager Alex Smith has received since taking on the Vics hot seat at the end of 2022.
Alex commented:
“Only taken us 15 attempts, but we finally got one.”
Newport IW won the Respect Award for Division 1.
This is given for sportsmanlike conduct – the fewest yellow and red cards.
This evening (Tuesday), East Cowes Victoria travel across the Solent to face United Services Portsmouth in the Velocity League Cup. Kick off at HMS Temeraire is at 19:45.
