Following the successful introduction of their healthy vending machines into the 1Leisure Medina and The Heights leisure centres on the Isle of Wight, Vitalife Vend have expanded their offering into the Red Funnel car ferry terminal in Southampton.
Vitalife secured their first Island placement for their healthy vending machines in November 2018 and since then have secured more machine placements across the Island and beyond – with their diverse range of machines offering anything from a range of healthy snacks and drinks, to toiletries, to hot organic beverages, and even licensed medicines via a state-of-the-art media-based machine.
The newly placed Vitalife Vend machine at the Red Funnel’s car ferry terminal offers commonly forgotten holiday essentials to those travelling to the Isle of Wight this Summer.
The CEO of Vitalife Group,
Gavin Edley, CEO of Vitalife Group, explains:
“We did some research and discovered that 75% of all holidaymakers said they forgot at least 1 holiday essential last time they travelled, with sun lotion, toothbrushes, and other toiletry items making the top of the forgotten items list.
“So now, instead of having to rush to seek out the nearest shop when they arrive on the island, holidaymakers can grab their forgotten essentials whilst they wait to board their ferry, so they can get straight on with enjoying their holiday when they arrive”.
The new machine also offers anti-travel-sickness bands, phone chargers, AA batteries, and many other essential non-food items that people may have forgotten to bring with them.
Kirstie Smith, Retail Commercial Assistant at Red Funnel, says:
“The team at the Steam coffee bar in the car ferry terminal are commonly asked whether we offer phone chargers and other forgotten essentials, and now we have just the solution for those people”.
Red Funnel are trialling the machine this Summer with a view to potentially expanding Vitalife Vend’s offering onto the ferries and also into their other terminals, if successful.
The ‘forgotten holiday essentials’ machine is currently accessible in the external walkway of the Red Funnel car ferry Terminal 1 – sitting directly in-front of boarding lanes 1-3, and conveniently located for foot passengers passing-by to board the ferry.
