The post of chair of Visit Isle of Wight will become vacant when the current chair, Simon Dabell, retires at the end of this year.
Simon Dabell’s 6 year tenure at the helm of Visit Isle of Wight Ltd has seen the growth of the Island’s Destination Management Organisation and developed many successful partnerships over that period, helping to keep the Island as one of the key UK holiday destinations.
Visit Isle of Wight are now advertising for someone to take on the role of chairperson.
The job carries a stipend of £10,000 a year for a day a week, however Simon Dabell has demonstrated that the role is one that should only be taken up by someone with a passion for the Island and a very real understanding of the many facets of the tourism industry:
Simon Dabell said:
“I’ve very much enjoyed my time at Visit Isle of Wight, and have met and worked with some incredibly talented people along the way. It is time for someone else to take up that role and be prepared to get involved in every aspect of the work of Visit Isle of Wight, matching the dedication and industriousness that the team there demonstrate every day”.
