Following a successful start to the season with 3 straight wins, Vics manager Alex Smith was able to rest several players to give starts to Sam Kirby, Jayden Yates, Charlie Hart and Harrison Berry. The game started at a great pace with Vics attacking from the off. The Victorians came close to taking the lead in the 4th minute when a goalmouth melee was frantically cleared by the Follands defence. The breakthrough for the Island side came in the 6th minute when Alex Andries handled the ball in the box. Harrison Yates stepped up to smash the resulting penalty high into the middle of the goal (1-0). In an end to end contest, the Planemakers equalised in the 11th minute; a great through ball from Callum Dart found Morgan Moret, who hit a fierce strike that went under Alex Ram and into the Vics goal (1-1). Vics regained the lead on 27 minutes; a great move from their own half ended with the ball falling for Jayden Yates; his pin point turn created space and his shot fizzed into the bottom corner of the goal (2-1). A minute later, a Harrison Yates throw was back headed by Jacob Reynolds, and the ball looped into the far corner of the goal (3-1). EMERSON TATTERSALL HITS 5 GOALS AS VENTNOR GO 2ND IN HARWOODS DIVISION 1
Ventnor have gone 2nd in Harwoods Division 1 after an emphatic victory over Bembridge at Watcombe Bottom. Emerson Tattersall hit the back of the net after just 6 minutes (1-0). Tattersall then scored his second after outpacing the Bembridge back line before rounding the keeper (2-0). Ventnor’s 3rd came after an incisive move starting from Neo Lamb at the back, whose delightful ball split then defence with Emerson crossing for Liam Harper to slot home (3-0). Tattersall scored his hat trick shortly before half time (4-0). Half time: Ventnor 4-0 Bembridge Within 5 minutes of the restart Emerson Tattersall had grabbed his 4th goal of the evening (5-0). The goal of the game came shortly after, when in form winger Liam Harper smashed the ball into the top corner of the goal (6-0). Charlie Urry then deservedly got on the scoresheet (7-0). Bembridge scored a late consolation goal (7-1) before man-of-the-match Tattersall grabbed his 5th from the penalty spot (8-1).
