Ventnor’s Independent Record Store, Reggie’s Retro has been approved for the first time to be an official participant in Record Store Day 2023, which takes place in the UK on Saturday 22nd April.
Record Store Day sees hundreds of independent record shops across the UK come together to celebrate their unique culture. Special vinyl releases are made exclusively for the day and many shops host performances and events to mark the occasion.
Thousands more shops celebrate the day around the globe in what’s become one of the biggest annual events on the music calendar.
Whilst Reggie’s Retro has been known for an extensive range of pre-loved vinyl records, the store has also been working with major record distributors over the past 2 years to build up a customer base for those wanting to buy new vinyls.
A selection of official Record Store Day releases will be available at the Pier Street shop from 09:00 on Saturday 22nd April. DJ Vinyl Lionel (aka Mick Sumner, Reggie’s second-hand vinyl buyer) will be on the decks throughout the day.
Headlining the live music during the afternoon will be up and coming Island singer/songwriter, Bethan John.
Owner, Sharon Holloway has said:
“Bethan impressed me so much when she performed at Reggie’s during Ventnor Fringe Festival last year, I’ve been waiting for an opportunity to host her again. It’s vital that the local community supports our outstanding local talent,” says Sharon.
Additional in store promotions and activities are still being prepared.

Excellent! Second best shop in Ventnor after Hurst. If you only want records: the best.
