In the only game to survive the weather in Harwoods Division 1, Ventnor comprehensively beat 3rd-placed Vectis at Cowes Enterprise College to go 4th in the league table. Both teams contained current and former Wessex League players in their ranks. Ventnor played Emmerson Tattersall and Charlie Urry up front with Neo Lamb in defence (all former – and current – Newport IW FC players); Vectis had East Cowes Vics captain Callum Chase in their ranks. In what was a game of 2 halves, Vectis dominated the 1st half in terms of possession but were punished by some clinical finishing from their opponents. Rob Gee opened the scoring for Ventnor in the 4th minute when he picked up a long ball from Neo Lamb, which he buried in the back of the net (0-1). 5 minutes later, Ventnor man-of-the-match – centre forward Charlie Urry – doubled the away side’s lead (0-2). On the half hour mark, Urry bagged his brace by heading in a corner (0-3). 3 minutes from half time, Ventnor increased their lead to 4 goals with a brilliant individual effort from prolific scorer Emerson Tattersall (0-4). Vectis were restricted to long range efforts in the 1st half without creating any clear chances. Half time: Vectis 0-4 Ventnor

“It wasn’t good enough. We gave away silly goals. “In the 1st half, we had most of the possession but couldn’t score. In the 2nd half, Ventnor were the better side, but they couldn’t score.”
Winning Ventnor manager Gary Gee told Island Echo:
“Very pleased with our performance, especially first half; we took our chances and limited Vectis to long shots. “We controlled the game well until last 10mins, then some poor discipline cost us 2 goals.”
Ventnor’s win leaves both sides on 24 points, with Vectis 3rd on goal difference. The South Wight side have 4 games in hand on Vectis.
