Harwoods Division 1 leaders Ventnor had a lucky escape at Cowes Community Club, beating Northwood St Johns after trailing by 2 goals with 10 minutes to play to retain top spot in Isle of Wight Division 1.
Northwood opened the scoring. Ventnor – playing without captain and prolific scorer Emerson Tattersall – grabbed all their 5 goals in a sensational 2nd half display.
Man-of-the-match Jack Barsdell scored a hat trick for the South Wight side, with Harry Mulholland and Freddie Knowles also on target for the visitors.
Lewis Blackmore bagged a brace for Northwoos St Johns, with their remaining goal coming courtesy of Toby Lauder

Ventnor’s victory leaves them 2 points clear of unbeaten Whitecroft & Barton Sports at the top of the Harwoods Division 1 table, with 36 points from 14 games. However, W&B have 2 games in hand on the league leaders.

Whitecroft & Barton Sports remain 2nd in Division 1 after seeing off Osborne Coburg at Sandy Lane. Josh Appell bagged a brace for the home side, with the remaining goal coming courtesy of Sam Yelland. Ollie Frost received the man-of-the-match accolade for W&B.

Jude Millar and Josh Craig were on target for the visitors as 4th-placed West Wight overcame Bembridge at Steyne Park.

Ryde Saints 0-3 Niton Community
Niton defeated Ryde Saints in the only Division 2 game to be played on Saturday. Niton’s scorers were Josh Edgerton, Cruz Wragg and captain Jake Cass.
In Combination 1, the match between Shanklin Reserves and High Park was abandoned in the 88th minute with the score at 1-1 after Shanklin’s Matt Rolle unfortunately broke his leg.
