The Vectis Under 9s football team were victorious at the Paul Westby Tournament at the weekend. Vectis A won all their qualifying games, which saw them take on Downside Panthers in the semi-final, winning 2-1 to see them go through to the final against Downside. Vectis won 3-2, with Stanley, Sonny, Harry and Bodhi appearing on the scoresheet. Goalkeepers Jonah and Oscar were kept on his toes, making some great saves throughout the competition. There was also some great team play from Oscar S, Josh, Stanley, Bodhi, Sonny, Harry, Henry, Toby, Olly, Rocco, Buddy and Brook. Managers Ash and Ash P said:
“We are extremely proud of the lads and how they all played today. Each player had a job to do, and they all did that on the pitch; we are so proud of everyone of them. “It was a great end to the season as under 9s.”
