VIDEO: The volunteer-led community project AIMM (Aspire Inspirational Music Movement) are to host a live Blues and Rock night featuring 3 great island bands at Aspire in Ryde next week.
Dreamer Joe, Confed Fred and headliners Lewis Berry Blues Band will all play at the gig, which is being funded by Mike Reader of Readers Interiors in Newport. Mr Reader is kindly donating all of the door proceeds and ticket sales to buy much needed equipment to help complete the AIMM recording and rehearsal studios.
AIMM, which is headed up by Jay ‘Jmo’ Jamieson, is a local music project that gives those members of our community that are vulnerable or in need – such as people in recovery from drug and/or alcohol abuse; people with poor mental wellbeing; people that have social difficulties or just people that need a shoulder to cry on and a little friendly support – a place to play, write and produce music, socialise, be part of a group or just feel like they belong and are cared about.
The event is being held on Friday 6th May at Aspire Community Centre, Dover Street, Ryde. Doors open at 18:00 for a 19:00 start. Advance tickets are just £5.00, £7.00 on the door.
