The Isle of Wight Council has announced that works will be taking place to remove 2 trees located outside County Hall in Newport.
It is said that 2 of the 3 False Acacia trees have reached the end of their lives.
Contractors will be removing the shady trees in the next month or so.
It has been confirmed that the trees will be replaced with young trees that should provide shade again in the future.

Surely there’s a lot more dead wood inside the building that needs getting rid of first!
How true
I suggest the council leave these trees alone and put the money saved towards maintaining the local bus service from Ventnor to St. Lawrence and put their money where their mouth is about sustainable transport.
Firstly, I don’t know why this is seen to be ‘news’ – slow day in the office perhaps..?
Secondly it’s about trees so why are we politicising a ‘not really news’ story >>>?
