charlie bicknellOn Saturday 17th October, Ventnor Arts Club is bringing top class cabaret act Charlie Bicknell to the Island, for the first time, from the burgeoning London cabaret circuit.

Charlie comes hugely recommended. Not just by the Club but by the quality press critics and specialist cabaret reviewers. Apparently Charlie Bicknell is a force to be reckoned with, dynamic, witty and tempestuous. Her show ‘No Angel’ promises an evening of darkly comic twisted songs, and theatrical flair. By turns funny and deeply moving, songs range from original material to that of Tim Minchin, Dresden Dolls, Kit and the Widow and Jacques Brel. Featuring the outstanding pianist David Harrod.

“When we discover artists who’re becoming the talk of the London scene, we set out to bring them to perform at the club. It’s not always easy, as its two days out of their schedule and thought to be a long trip.

“Luckily, we persuade more than we lose so we all get to enjoy top acts like Eve Ferret, Jane for Tea (from France), Barb Jungr, Sherika Sherard (album now out), Ben Cox, 2 Blondes & a Harp.  They have a great time, meet lovely people and now ‘Love Ventnor’.”

Charlie causes excitement every time she packs out the capitals best cabaret venues. This will be her first appearance at the club.
