Ryde Esplanade will once again play host to what has become a Bank Holiday highlight next weekend as the free-to-attend music event, Ticket to Ryde, makes a welcome return to Eastern Gardens.
Organised by Jack Up Events with the support of Ryde Town Council, Ticket to Ryde is now in its 9th year. Owing to very popular demand, it will once again be returning on each of the Bank Holiday weekends throughout Spring and Summer 2023.
Feel-good live music will be provided by some of the Island’s best bands and artists including Now Only, Bethan John, Momentary High, Emelia, The Pact, High School Never Ends, Soul Queen, Steve Love’s Island Songs, Izzy Russell and many more, plus an opportunity for upcoming local talent to take to the stage.
On-stage proceedings are set to kick-off at lunchtime on Friday 7th April, with the event running until 8pm each evening. Trade stalls open from 10am each morning.
The purpose of Ticket to Ryde is to enable Island residents to engage with culture at no cost on their doorstep whilst supporting local charities and traders. Jack Up Events’ Charity of the Year for 2023 is the MS Society Isle of Wight. The Shanklin-based charity will have a presence at each event to showcase how their various support schemes can help enhance the lives of those living with Multiple Sclerosis here on the Island, along with the many carers, family and wider networks of people who are touched by the condition.
There will be a real ale bar courtesy of Island Ales, hot food freshly cooked by Island caterers including mouth-watering loaded fries, burgers, freshly cooked-to-order pizza and bao buns, all made using locally sourced ingredients. There will also be delicious homemade Isle of Wight ice cream, locally produced shortbread and cheesecakes, candyfloss and popcorn. Not forgetting artisanal coffees and speciality teas, all served with a smile!
Attendees can also browse a range of traditional market stalls, pose for a hand-drawn caricature, have their tarot cards read or indulge in a beautifully sculpted henna tattoo. A range of children’s activities, including sand bottle-filling, hair braiding and face painting will keep the little ones happy whilst the adults relax and enjoy the music.
No advance tickets are required for this hugely popular event.

No, you can stay in listen to BBC ‘news’ and absorb all the welcoming of never ending streams of imms, chat of banning cars, heating your home, eating meat, accepting the weird in society, all hailed as the way forwards from over paid presenters who live in beautiful homes in the Cotswolds far away from imms, whilst having a super warm mansion fully heated, hot tubs, and living life to the full, whilst convincing fools like you to ‘toe the party line’.
So stay in is my advice and live in a fools paradise rather than listen to Alex Dyke who is more in tune with real life.
