Thousands of people are expected to make their way to the South Wight this weekend for the 93rd running of The Chale Show.
The annual 2-day event, held off Military Road, is always a firm favourite with Islanders and visitors alike and hosts the largest horticultural competition on the Island with over 1,750 exhibits in many different classes.
Organisers strive to find entertainment to suit all tastes and this year is no different. Chale Show 2019 welcomes Broke FMX who will be bringing the art of freestyle motocross to the main arena – a display guaranteed to wow all ages. You won’t want to miss the Rockwood Dog Display Team too as they show off their talents a huge range of tricks, agility and obedience.
In addition to the popular kids zone, this year there is a great new children’s performance area curated by The Character Company Isle of Wight. Each day there will be multiple well-loved characters from the world of film performing for the crowds from their show tent positioned opposite the fairground.
Cameras at the ready as South Coast Falconry are returning to the main arena in 2019, bringing with them a wide selection of birds of prey. South Coast falconry is owned by LANTRA qualified falconer Charlie Rolle, who was one of the UK’s youngest qualified falconers.
The Chale show has always had a close relationship with the Mountbatten Hospice team and they will once again be fundraising at the show this year, as well as lending their name to the Sunflower Music Stage.
There will, of course, be plenty of trade stands to explore as well as a food pavilion, arts and crafts and an indoor market. That is in addition to vintage vehicles, steam engines and a fairground.
The Chale Show runs on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th August between 10:00-17:00. Free parking. Adults just £10, children under 16 go FREE.
