Discount retailer The Works are to open their second Isle of Wight store, it has been revealed.
Islanders will soon be able to buy an extensive range of books, art and craft materials, gifts, toys, games and stationery from the new store which is opening in Ryde High Street.
The submission of a planning application for signage has confirmed that The Works will be moving into the current New Look premises at 174-175 High Street.
Last week Island Echo reported that clothing store New Look will be closing its doors for good on 8th September. It’s now thought that the discussions to close New Look and open The Works have been happening for sometime with a planning document detailing signage dated May 2018.
The Works currently operate a store in Newport in the former Early Learning Centre building at St James’ Square.
Island Echo approached The Works for a comment on Tuesday but are yet to receive a response.
