The Phoenix Choir will be in concert at St John’s Church in Ryde on Saturday (2nd June) in aid of the church’s organ refurbishment appeal.
The 50-strong mixed choir will again be singing a wide variety of easy listening songs. Included in this programme will be music from films such as My Heart Will Go On from Titanic; Whistle While You Work & Heigh Ho from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs; The Caravan Song from Caravans; Zip A Dee Doo Dah from Song Of The South and a medley from Gladiator.
You can also expect to hear Memory from Cats; Band Of Brothers from the TV miniseries; Intermezzo from Cavalleria Rusticana, as well as other well-known popular hits such as Blowin’ In The Wind, Forever and Ever and Hallelujah.
The programme will also include Albert Malottes’ famous musical arrangement of The Lord’s Prayer.
The concert commences at 19:30. Admission is free with a retiring collection.
