Terra Firma Capital Partners, working alongside former Associated British Ports chief executive, James Cooper, are reported to be wading in on the bidding war to buy Wightlink.
Sky News has this week reported that tycoon Guy Hands has lined up James Cooper to help snap up Wightlink Ferries, which is expected to sell for around £300million.
As previously reported by Island Echo, Mayfair Equity Partners are said to be in the running to buy the cross-Solent operator. Arcus Infrastructure Partners is thought to be eyeing up Wightlink also.
Sources close to Sky News say that the sale of Wightlink is expected to conclude in the early part of 2019. However, Chief Executive Keith Greenfield has this week said that there are no plans to sell Wightlink and that he doesn’t expect any change of ownership at Wightlink in the foreseeable future.
