The Isle of Wight Island Games Association has announced that all of the athletes have now been selected for the 19th International Island Games in Guernsey this July.
While many of the athletes are returning champions, the Association is excited to welcome some fresh faces to the Games. Making up the team are 214 officials, sport therapists, and athletes competing in 12 different sports.
You can find the names of all the selected athletes and the sports they will be competing in at teamiow.org.uk.
The Isle of Wight Island Games Association would like to give a huge shoutout to ICRTouch for their unwavering support of TeamIOW. Thanks to their generosity, the team will be looking sharp in their fully-funded tracksuits and polo shirts. But their contributions go far beyond that – ICRTouch has also provided invaluable technical support for the team’s website, ensuring that everything runs smoothly.
Long-standing headline sponsors of TeamIOW, CEO of ICRTouch, Colin Ringer says:
“As proud sponsors of TeamIOW, we believe in the power of teamwork to achieve greatness. We are inspired by the dedication and commitment of everyone that makes up this incredible team.
“By providing them with the support they need – from sportswear to technical assistance – we hope to help them reach their full potential and achieve success on the international stage.
“We are honoured to have been part of this journey with TeamIOW for the last seven years, and cannot wait to see what they will accomplish in Guernsey.”
Chair of TeamIOW, Kev Winchcombe, couldn’t be more excited to lead his team to Guernsey.
Kev has said:
“We are looking forward to taking over 200 athletes to Guernsey and watching them compete. It’s not always about winning, but it’s about achieving their best, and overcoming the challenges of competing.”
Some athletes will even travel to and from Guernsey on the same day as their competition, while others will spend up to 8 days living, eating, training, socialising, and competing with athletes from 23 other islands.
