The Earl Mountbatten Hospice is to host a night of Greek cuisine and entertainment later this month.
On Friday 24th February, the hospice hosts a Greek Night with a piano performance by Costis Panayotidis, who studied piano for 12 years when he attended the renowned Athenaeum music school in Athens. In his professional life, Mr Panayotidis is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist who leads early pregnancy and fertility services at St Mary’s Hospital.
Concert-goers can expect a variety of popular Greek music transcribed for piano by composers such as Kostas Yanides, Manos Chatzidakis and Mikis Theodorakis.
Mr Panayotidis, who is an active supporter of Earl Mountbatten Hospice, said:
“The rhythms of Greek music have enormous variety, with a great deal of expression and movement. I’m delighted to be performing this concert which represents a century of great musical compositions”.
A buffet of Greek food will also be on offer, as well as a selection of accompanying drinks. Tickets are just £10 and can be booked by phone on 01983 217320 or email [email protected]. You can also pay at the door.
