An object feared to be an explosive prompted a call out for Ventnor Coastguard Rescue Team this morning (Thursday).
Coastguard Officers were tased to attend Little Hope Beach between Sandown and Shanklin at 07:54 following the discovery of a piece of suspected ordnance, possibly a grenade of sorts.
Photographs were taken and details passed to the Royal Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team in Portsmouth.
The bomb disposal experts determined that the object was not an explosive and was safe to be disposed of at the next low tide.
