The brand new BoRo Beach Bike has been officially launched in Ryde today (Wednesday), with rides along the Esplanade and beyond set to get underway this weekend.

The unique 17-seater vehicle will offer a variety of themed tours, from sightseeing to fitness and afternoon tea to business networking. Each round trip will begin at Ryde Pier Head, with an additional pick-up point outside Ryde Superbowl in Eastern Gardens, before continuing along the Esplanade to Appley and Puckpool Park.

During peak holiday times and weekends there will be 5 ‘beachfront’ rides per day, starting from 12:30. Priced at £12.50, these will showcase the historical sights and stunning coastline of Ryde. Concessions are available for non-pedallers and children over 5.

Local Councillor Wayne Whittle and members of the press were invited to experience the bike for themselves – we jumped on board and broadcast part of the ride live to our Facebook page…

Founder and CEO Dominic Wong has said:

“We have been overwhelmed with the positive responses from residents and businesses alike for the arrival of the BoRo Beach Bike.

“People have had lots of colourful and brilliant ideas to use the experience to promote their own businesses as well as ideas for more themed rides.”

More information about the ride and how to book can be found at www.borobeachbike.co.uk.
