‘uCEClele’, a unique 10-piece band made up of students from Cowes Enterprise College, are to open the Electrolove stage on the Sunday of this year’s Isle of Wight Festival.
Briefed with creating a set which reflects the 80’s and 90’s the students, under the direction of Ben Sampler, have arranged each classic song for uke band; not such an easy task, but one which they have succeeded with.
The set includes versions of A-ha’s ‘Take on Me’, Duran Duran’s ‘Ordinary World’ and Blur’s ‘Country House’ aswell as covers of Electronica legends Faithless with ‘Insomnia’ and Soft Cell’s ‘Tainted Love’.
Also featuring at 11:00 on Sunday (24th June) will be vocals from up and coming mainland performer Mia Wilson who has been making an impact in Bucks and Oxfordshire with her powerful and sultry vocals.
