Island charity Breathe Easy is holding a Spring Fair at Newport Parish Hall in Town Lane on Saturday 17th May from 11:00 until 15:00.
The aim of the fair is to raise money to go towards purchasing some travel nebulisers to enable people with a lung complaint to go on holiday and also to replace the treadmills and exercise bikes in the respiratory gym.
A variety of stalls will be at the event and many Island businesses have donated towards the raffle, including a cream tea at Bluebells, Briddlesford Farm, a cut and blow dry from Barnet Fair in Town Lane and a family ticket to the Owl and Monkey Haven, amongst many other things.
Breathe Easy was started in 2000 by Sarah Kearney, a Respiratory Nurse Specialist and the main aim is to offer help and support to all Islanders suffering from any kind of lung complaint, ranging from childhood asthma to lung cancer. It also carries out a course of rehabilitation exercise classes in the gym for people who have been referred to them, and has now formed Keep Active groups in the wider community for the growing number of people who are realising how much their health is improving under the care of our BLF instructor Andy Savage.
