5 local fundraisers are to cycle around the East Wight to raise funds for Keziah’s Memorial Garden, plans for which have progressed.
A year ago this week innocent 6-year-old Keziah Flux Edmonds was unlawfully killed by her own father at Cromwell Avenue in East Cowes. Since that tragic day, Islanders have been working towards raising funds to install a memorial garden in Keziah’s memory.
To help boost the funds available, the group of 5 men will be setting off from East Cowes Co-Operative at 09:00 on Saturday 10th June, cycling through to Ryde, Sandown, Shanklin, Ventnor, Newport and back to East Cowes. Along the way the fundraisers will visit the all town’s Co-Operative stores where they will receive a coloured stamp to demonstrate the lengths they have travelled.
The Co-Operative are supporting the event by offering the group free fruit and water for the duration of their charity challenge.
Planning permission for the garden has now been submitted to the Isle of Wight Council and some of the equipment required has been purchased.
More information and how to sponsor the lads can be found on the Keziah Memorial Garden group on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/groups/992215594208623/.
