The year of the earth pig is being celebrated at Robin Hill this month as part of the electric woods event ‘Spirit of the Orient’.
Between 18:30-21:00 each day until Saturday 23rd February, a dazzling fusion of sound, colour, illuminations and oriental flavours will mark the Chinese New Year amid ancient woodlands, capturing the spirit of one of the world’s most popular celebrations.
Chinese New Year is the most important celebration in the Chinese calendar and marks the start of the lunar New Year (when there is the start of a new moon).
Spirit of the Orient features impressive new light exhibits, a 12-metre long dragon procession, new interactive woodland light shows, traditional lion dances, Chinese street food, entertainment and crafts.
