Southern Vectis is marking Mother’s Day by offering the Island’s youngsters the chance to take their mums on the bus for free.
The local bus operator will provide complimentary travel for mothers travelling on Sunday 31st March – as long as they are accompanied by a child buying a rover ticket.
Nikki Honer, Southern Vectis’ Head of Communications, has said:
“Mother’s Day is about spending time together as a family – and many children like to treat their mums to a well-deserved day out – perhaps into town, to the cinema, or for a meal.
“With the days getting longer, this is also a fantastic time for a stroll along the beach.
“Southern Vectis wants to help them do this by providing transport for their special occasion. Our team is looking forward to seeing lots of mums out and about, being treated by their children on 31 March – and we hope they all have have a brilliant day together.”

I think this is commendable, well done Southern Vectis. Let’s hope the weather picks up too. The whole island wil benefit from this generous move.
