After 9 years as the piano accompianist to the Newchurch Male Voice Choir, Jenny Riddell, is retiring.
To say thank you and to celebrate her committment and enthusiasm during those 9 years, the Choir are presenting a special celebration concert for her.
This will be held on Saturday (31st October) at 19:30 in the Shanklin Methodust Church, Regent Street, Shanklin.
The concert will include many of the ‘easy listening’ favourite songs that Jenny has requested along with solo and duet performances from the Choir members.
Bob Cooper, for the Choir, said:
“Nearly every Friday evening, Jenny would be the only lady with 30/40 men in the Newchurch Village Hall as the Choir Rehearsed.
“I was astounded at the professionalism and skill that she has in being able to react to the ‘whims’ of the Musical Director as he suddenly stops and starts the song as he trains us to perfect the songs to the sound we want to present to the public at our charity concerts, not only on the Island but on our trips around the country.
“Thank you to a very special lady”.
Entry is free but there will be a retiring collection, the proceeds of which will all be donated to Jenny’s lifelong charity – Youth for Church in Zimbabwe.
