A 47-year-old man from Somerset has been arrested, questioned and released in connection with an allegation of sexual assault.
The incident is said to have occurred at Fever nightclub in Newport during the early hours of Sunday morning.
The alleged victim is a woman in her 40s.
Hampshire Constabulary have confirmed that the 47-year-old was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and possession of class A drugs, but has since been released from custody.
He remains under investigation.
