Mainland firefighters standing by at Freshwater Fire Station have tackled a small vehicle fire at Compton this evening (Thursday).
1 appliance was mobilised to the Compton area of Military Road sometime around 18:00 following a 999 call to control reporting a Land Rover Discovery was on fire.
The crew from Beaulieu used a hose reel to dowse the engine bay of the 4×4.
The mainland appliance is standing by on the Isle of Wight whilst crews tackle a large barn blaze in Ryde.
