Freshwater Memorial Hall will host the vocal talents and teachings of London male voice duo Ben & Dom laer this month.
The duo’s intricate harmonies are inspired by their close friendship and a passion for singing together. Their lyrics touch on friendship, nature and what it means for two men to sing together in the modern day.
Ben & Dom will lead a singing workshop, bringing people together in song. The session will be open to all levels of singing experience, and participants will sing a mixture of new songs and old songs in glorious harmony. Following the workshop, Ben & Dom will give a short performance, weaving their intricate vocal harmonies and beautiful voices around original compositions and their favourite folk songs.
As well as having their music played on primetime BBC 6 Music & Radio 3, the duo have performed at Cambridge Folk Festival and supported respected musicians including Tom Robinson and the Young ‘Uns.
Ben and Dom are supported by Vecta Music, a new folk, roots and acoustic music hub for the Isle of Wight.
On the upcoming performance, Ben has said:
“We are really excited to be making our Isle Of Wight debut this September. We’re looking forward to sharing our music and voices with lots of enthusiastic singers and music fans, and making some new friends. Singing together is such a nice way to gather and meet people, and we’d love to invite anyone to come and join us in the Memorial Hall.
