The marine engineering business previously known as Yar Marine Engineering, based on the banks of the River Yar in Yarmouth, has seen major new investment over the past 6 months and has been rebranded as Wight Marine.
The business, which has a long and storied history in Yarmouth, has been acquired by Stephen Huckelsby who brings with him a pedigree of creating successful businesses in the automotive industry on the mainland.
Stephen says:
“The Isle of Wight was always a destination for us, having travelled the world, the Island was the place we wanted to live and work.
“Acquiring Yar Marine Engineering gave us an opportunity to invest in a great business in a beautiful location. We are keen to invest in the local economy, creating a sustainable employment base with aspirations to become the island’s premier marine engineering destination”.
The investment has seen a complete, state-of-the-art refit of the premises, new staff added to the team and a complete rebrand across all on and offline materials undertaken by Island design studio, Brightbulb Design.
The team at Wight Marine have also secured major partnerships with Honda Marine and Highfield to become the Island’s official supplier of Honda Marine engines and parts, alongside market leading RIB’s from Highfield.
Stephen adds:
“We are really focused on pushing the business forward. We are driven to offer customers an all-round marine engineering service with a focus on high levels of customer service alongside a range of global products they can rely on”.
