
Shanklin Ladies were held to a draw by Hants Division 1 leaders AFC Varsity in Chandlers Ford on Sunday (15th October).
Shanklin started the game well with a lot of shots on goal which were stopped by the Varsity keeper. Around the 20 minute mark, Shanklin opened the scoring through Sienna Brennen (0-1). The Blues pressed high as they tried to play the ball out from the back. Sienna was one-on-one with the keeper and slotted it into the bottom right.
10 minutes later, Nicola Woodford got the ball on the edge of the box and shot to the keepers left. leaving her no chance (0-2).

In the 2nd half, Varsity were the better team, and the Island side couldn’t get the ball down and play. They scored with a long ball over the top that the Shanklin players didn’t deal with (1-2)
15 minutes later, Varsity were awarded a penalty, which they scored from (2-2)
Shanklin battled hard when they went down to 10 players when a Shanklin player was sin binned, but had to settle for a point.

RUSHMOOR LADIES 1 – 5 WIGHT EAGLES LADIES
The Eagles got off to a flyer, with Abi Joyce opening the scoring within the 1st 10 minutes.
Then, a great solo effort from Jordan Bradshaw extended the Eagles’ extend their lead before half time (2-0).
In the 2nd half, Abi Joyce added her 2nd and the Eagles 3rd (0-3); they were cruising until a scramble in the box saw Rushmoor pull one back (1-3).
The Island side pushed for a goal to seal the game, with right back Ayisha Keyes scoring for the second week in a row (1-4); victory was sealed through an Abi Joyce hat-trick (5-1).
