Shanklin Ladies are through to their first final of the season after beating Alton Ladies at the County Ground.
Shanklin could only field 11 players, but nevertheless started first half controlling the play. Chances were created throughout the first half, but due to a great performance from the Alton keeper, Shanklin were unable to score.
The breakthrough happened just before half time, when – in the 45th minute – Thea Broadhead made the run down the wing, to then find her shot spilled by the keeper, and Faith Wagstaff was then able to slot it home to give Shanklin the well deserved lead.

Shanklin controlled the play in the 2nd half and attempted to extend their lead, but unfortunately were kept out by a well drilled team. Alton pulled together and – as the game neared the end – pushed players forward to try to get the equaliser, but Shanklin dug deep and everyone gave all they had to keep the clean sheet and secure the win.
