This month Shanklin & District History Society is celebrating 2o years since the society was founded with a special Anniversary Open Day Exhibition.
The event is on Saturday 27th May from 10:00 to 15:00 at the Falcon Cross Hall in Shanklin. Entry is free and all are welcome.
There will be displays of photographs and stories from the S&DHS archive, a display of military artefacts, plus old maps and directories to help find out ‘who lived in your house?’
A spokesperson from Shanklin & District History Society has said:
“We will also be celebrating the publication of our new book ‘Edwardian Shanklin’ which will be available for the first time and costs just £5.
“Other local history books and old postcards will also be on sale.”
