Due to the tragic events which unfolded in London yesterday (Wednesday), today’s visit to the Island by Sajid Javid MP, Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government has been postponed.
Mr Javin was due to speak at the Isle of Wight Conservative Conference, which is still due to go ahead. The Secretary of State will be sending a message to those attending.
At the conference, respects will be paid to PC Palmer who died in the line of duty and all others who lost their lives or were injured in the terrorist attack.
Parliament is sitting as normal today, taking a ‘business as usual’ approach.
The Island’s MP, Andrew Turner, is still in London this morning however he will be returning to the Island later on today.
