Seaview Post Office has now re-opened, marking the end of a long 4-year period in which the area has been without a branch.
In March 2016 the village’s Postmaster resigned and withdrew his premises for Post Office use. Later that year The Post Office consulted and agreed the re-opening of the branch at Seaview Pharmacy.
Since then major changes have been undertaken to accommodate the Post Office. The pharmacy consultation room had to be demolished and rebuilt in a new part of the shop. The Post Office counter is now alongside the retail counter.
The new Post Office re-opened on Friday (11th May) and therefore services are now available throughout the pharmacy’s opening hours of Monday-Friday 09:00-13:00 & 14:15-17:30 and Saturday 09:00-12:45.
Sarah Lambert, Regional Network Operations Manager, said:
“We are delighted to restore Post Office services to Seaview. Just like the vast majority of Post Office branches, Seaview will be run alongside the operator’s retail businesses, which helps the sustainability of the branch and its long-term future.”
