Sandown Bay Regatta returns on Sunday (10th August) with a full day of free family entertainment and activities along Sandown Esplanade.
The popular street market will open at 10:00, with live performances taking place throughout the day. Visitors can enjoy shows from Horse Box Theatre and magician David Randini, alongside music from Wight Diamonds Marching Band, The Crew, Sea Gels Shanty Band and steel drummer Alex Cassidy. Yes! Creative Beats will offer the chance to try samba drumming, while Morris dancers Men of Wight and Moonshine Border will bring traditional rhythms to the seafront.
Eastern Beach will host the classic Punch and Judy show, beach games including a tug of war, and The Grand Regatta Hat Parade, where participants can compete for a £100 prize for Best Hat.
Although fireworks will not feature this year, organisers Sandown Carnival say the event has continued to grow since they took it over in 2022.

“Sandown has had a Regatta since 1857, and we’re proud to keep this historic town occasion going strong in the 21st century.
“We’ve got lots of family entertainment on offer on Sunday, and we hope everyone enjoys the day.”
