Highly-rated Newport defender Scott Barron has become the latest player to sign for Cowes Sports.
Scott – who usually wore the No6 shirt for Port – had been a near constant fixture for the County Town club last season, making 37 appearances including 35 starts.
Cowes Sports have announced:
“After performing well in a title chasing side last season, we are happy to have signed young centre half Scott Barron for the 23/24 season.
“He’s a young, aggressive defender with bags of potential.”
Cowes Sports captain John McKie said of Scott:
“It’s exciting to add another young player that has Wessex experience. The squad’s only getting stronger, and it’s exciting to see what players like Scott will bring.”
Scott Barron is the 4th Newport player to leave the Wessex Division 1 club over recent days: Connor Kelly has also become a Yachtsmen with Jacob Reynolds and Rafferty Boyd-Kerr opting to join East Cowes Vics.
Cowes Sports are set to announce a further signing tomorrow (Thursday).
Details will be announced on the Cowes Sports Facebook page and Island Echo’s football page.
