A Ryde man who is accused of several counts of child rape, along with multiple acts of indecent assault of a child, has appeared in front of Isle of Wight Magistrates.
Steven Roy Reddin, 57, of Arundel Close, Ryde, is charged with raping a girl under the age of 16 on several occasions, indecent assault on a girl under the age of 14, inciting a girl under 14 to commit an act of gross indecency, and gross indecency with a girl under 14 – all of which are said to have occurred between June 1991 and June 1994.
Magistrates heard how at the time of the offences, which took place in Ryde and Sandown, Reddin was aged between 27 and 32.
Reddin’s case has been adjourned to the Isle of Wight Crown Court on 24th May. He has granted unconditional bail.
