The 39 Ryde Harriers who competed in the Stubbington 10km Road Race had some outstanding results – including 2nd and 3rd men’s places overall – on Sunday 7th January. Stubbington is the 1st race of the Hampshire Road Race League every year and a sell-out within about 24 hours of registration opening, due to its fast pace and fabulous organisation. The Isle of Wight was well represented, including all the Isle of Wight running clubs Congratulations to Daniel Eckersley 00:31:24 (2nd Overall) and Chris Newnham 00:32:12 (3rd Overall). Along with Dave Hunt 00:33:20 and Jake Brougham 00:35:04, Ryde Harriers took 1st men’s team. Carly Scoble 00:38:51 was the first Ryde Harriers woman over the finish line. Across the board, Harriers were pleased with their results with some great personal bests, including Trevor McAlister, who shaved 20s off his previous 10km time.
