The Ryde Art Collective is set to launch a brand-new exhibition, Re-collections, at Department in Ryde from 30th September to 11th October.
It marks a first for the newly-opened arts centre, which has invited the contemporary art group as its debut exhibitors, as well as a milestone collaboration with independent curator Lena Evans, an Aspex Aspire alumna based in Portsmouth. The exhibition also coincides with the unveiling of the collective’s refreshed branding and website.
Work from 11 artists — Mandy Bangerter, Zoë Barker, Gill Clarke, Vincent Dupont-Blackshaw, Fran Farrar, Jan Frith, Barbara Gowan, Violet Mareck, Richard May, Karen Mead and Fiona Schindler — will be on display, with the show exploring how memory, storytelling and experience shape artistic practice across a wide range of media.
Admission is free, with opening hours Tuesday to Saturday, 10:00-17:30. A private view with a pay bar will take place on Tuesday 30th September from 17:30-19:30.
