Rabbit and guinea pig owners looking for practical help with pet care can drop in to the RSPCA clinic and meet the expert team.
The clinic will be open between 11:00 and 15:00 on 9th February at the RSPCA Isle of Wight Animal Centre, Godshill.
The RSPCA can help with nail clipping, grooming, scent gland cleaning, front teeth checking and any general advice on your pet’s condition and wellbeing.
In 2024, the charity rehomed 60 rabbits and 55 small animals. Like many other UK animal shelters, the Rabbitry Department is always at capacity. As soon as an animal is rehomed, another is waiting to be surrendered from a waitlist.
The aim of the clinic is to try and avoid any further surrenders due to welfare and to help the community understand the level of care a small animal needs. It’s also a chance for staff to meet all your little furry companions.
There is a suggested donation of £3 per pet for the charity to raise some funds for the rabbits and guinea pigs looking for homes in their care.
The RSPCA Isle of Wight Animal Centre is located at Bohemia Corner, Merstone Lane, Godshill, PO38 3NA. No appointment is required.
Animals should be brought in a secure carrier. There is no limit to the amount of rabbits and guinea pigs that can be seen.
