A new bi-annual music event that aims to raise money for local good causes will be launching on the Isle of Wight over the Bank Holiday weekend with a special gig to raise money for Ryde Inshore Rescue.
‘Rock for Good’ will be taking place twice a year and is to be hosted by Joshua Adams with the assistance of a number of Island musicians. The first event will be taking place at Coburgs in Ryde (Union Street) on Sunday 27th May between 15:30 and 23:00.
The event is set to feature a whole host of bands, who are giving up their time for free, including: The Stars of 45; Proud Mary; The Red Hot Babymakers; Mr. Strange; King Kuna; Little Martha; Sexy Pretty Things; Storm; Valentine Gray; Koln and Greg Barnes (and his Band of Bears).
The music ranges from originals and covers, from classic to modern rock, a touch of drag and everything else in between.
On the day, Ryde Inshore Rescue volunteers will be collecting donations for the supportive crowds that are expected to gather. Ryde Inshore Rescue have been saving lives since their formation in 1956 and continue to work on a voluntary basis, 24 hours a day and 365 days a year.
Organiser Joshua Adams has said:
“With Coburgs chipping in to donate a proportion of the funds raised on the day, as well as the generosity of the people involved, those performing and those attending, we hope to sufficiently help RIR in their effort of saving more lives.
