UPDATED: Police have descended on Carisbrooke this afternoon (Friday) in the search for a suspect wanted in connection with an alleged robbery at the Central Convenience store in Upper St James’ Street.
Multiple Police units have been seen racing around the county town with officers on foot jumping over garden walls. The search is now centering around a property on Carisbrooke Road.
It is said that a knife has been used in the alleged robbery, just yards away from the Island Innovation Sixth Form Campus at Nodehill. Police remain in attendance at the Upper St James’ Street shop.
UPDATE @ 17:18 – 1 Male has been arrested in connection with the alleged crime, which Police have confirmed as a robbery incident. It is said a man entered the shop holding a knife.
Officers and forensic examiners have now left the scene but I nvestigations continue.
