Wightlink are reminding customers that their Fishbourne-Portsmouth car ferry service will be disrupted during November due to works to improve the terminal facilities in Portsmouth.
The Portsmouth Car Ferry Terminal at Gunwharf will be closed for 3 days next month whilst piling works are carried out close to the boarding ramps as part of the £45million ‘Investing for the Future’ project.
On 1st, 2nd and 3rd November all sailings from Fishbourne will be diverted to the Portsmouth International Port (Cross Channel Ferry terminal). Wightlink will only being accepting booked vehicles and no dangerous goods will be carried. In addition, foot passengers will only be able to travel on the catamaran service from Ryde Pier Head to Portsmouth Harbour, although extra overnight services will be operating from Portsmouth Harbour to Ryde Pier Head.
Customers travelling from the mainland are being advised to arrive at the International Port in good time and at least 30 minutes before the time of the booked sailing. Vehicles and passengers travelling to or from the International Port may be subject to checks.
Extra catamaran sailings will run from Portsmouth Harbour at 00:15 and 03:15 and from Ryde Pier Head at 01:15 and 04:15 on both Wednesday 2nd and Thursday 3rd
