The event will be held in the garden area adjacent to the Rehabilitation Unit which is at the north or top end of the hospital site. The event will be signposted from the hospital duck pond and there will be free parking in a nearby car park.
Sister Natalie Mew from the Rehabilitation Unit said:
“We’re looking forward to welcoming the friends and family of all current patients and staff as well as those who have been rehabilitation patients or visited the Unit or worked on the ward in recent years. The funds raised will be used to help maintain our garden for the benefit of patients.”
Activities planned for the event include:
- Irish dancing
- Bouncy castle
- Face painting
- Ice cream van
The 26 bedded Rehabilitation Unit supports over 500 patients each year to achieve a full recovery following trauma, elective surgery or medical illness. If a full recovery is not possible the unit enables people to optimise their physical, mental and social potential in order to return home or to the most appropriate environment.
