Newly reformed Oakfield FC have announced the appointment of manager Andy Venn. Andy has had over 30 years experience as a footballer as well as 10 years experience in managing Oakfield’s youth team. The new manager has fought back from a cancer diagnosis over recent years. The Slade Road club have said:
“We would like to welcome back Andy Venn in becoming the new 1st team manager for Oakfield FC! With over 10 years of experience in youth football for Oakfield and 30+ years in adult football, playing Oakfield men’s himself in goal and outfield, he must bring a wealth of knowledge and passion to the club. It’s always exciting to see how someone with such a strong background can impact a team positively. “Andy has wanted two things in his new string of life while still battling with cancer was to get fit and bring Oakfield back. If he can have this strong determination outside of football, imagine what he can bring to the field.”
Oakfield FC have also announced the appointment of Dean Ball as reserve team manager. The Slade Road club have said:
“We would like to welcome back Club legend Dean Ball becoming the new reserve team manager for Oakfield FC. With over 30+ years of dedication on and off the field in various roles within the club, he brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to a position he’s familiar with. “It’s always exciting to see someone with such a long history within a club take on the challenge of bringing Oakfield back to where they belong. I’m sure Dean Ball will make a positive impact and we can’t wait to see how he leads the reserves team.”

My partners nephew was approached by Oakfield who made all kinds of promises. The younger ones are susceptible and attracted by this and can be easily impressed.
