Red Funnel’s vehicle ferry service has once again been hit by technical difficulties, resulting in at least 2 sailings being crossed this evening (Sunday). Yet another issue with Red Eagle – 1 of 3 Raptor-class vessels on the East Cowes – Southampton route – has led to the last minute cancellations. A coolant leak is to blame this time around. Yesterday, Red Funnel had 4 different excuses as to why their service was cancelled or delayed. The 19:00 sailing from Southampton has been cancelled, alongside the 20:30 from East Cowes. It’s unclear if there will be any further disruption today, or into the new week. Red Funnel apologises for any inconvenience to your journey. UPDATE @ 20:34 – Red Funnel has cancelled a further 2 sailings; the 22:00 from South, pton and the 23:30 from East Cowes. This is due to the earlier coolant leak.
