Anyone interested in finding out more about nursing or is considering returning to nursing, is invited to go along to a recruitment event being held on Saturday 9th May, 10:00 to 15:00 at the Education Centre at St. Mary’s Hospital, Newport.

Whether you are due to leave school or college, already have a degree, thinking about a change in profession, currently work in health or social care or considering returning to nursing after a career break, the recruitment event will provide information about all aspects of pre-registration training and the different fields of nursing across the Island.

There will be academics and Nursing students from the University of Southampton, information from training providers about courses which meet the entry criteria and nurses from a range of backgrounds sharing their experiences of nursing and nurse training. There will also be information about funding and bursaries. For IOW NHS Trust employees there will also be the opportunity to discuss options for funded secondment opportunities.

“The recruitment event is a great opportunity to find out more about the opportunities and support available for nurse training on the Island. Nursing is a really interesting profession which can be challenging but incredibly rewarding. If you have the energy and commitment to care for others then come and find out how we can help you to become a registered nurse.

“If you have been away from nursing for a while and are now interesting in coming back, come and find out about return to practice courses and we can help make your return to nursing as straight forward as possible.”
